Bank Robbery is becoming one of the major social problems in Korea. The current study developed bank robbery prevention measures by applying twelve techniques which Ronald Clarke's suggested in his Situational Crime Prevention Theory. Those twelve techniques include target hardening, access control, deflecting offenders, controlling facilitators, entry/exit screening, formal surveillance, surveillance by employees, natural surveillance, target removal, identifying property, removing inducements, and rule setting. The present study also discussed the problems with implementing bank robbery prevention measures, such as costs, inconvenience of customers, legal /ethical issues, and displacement of bank robbery.
