Modern textile design is characterized by variety, small production, high quality, short cycle, industrialization, and diversification. The textile design, the most important element of fashion, has been a software in textile industry and emerged as a newfield since 1980's. Modem fashion has developed with satisfying the simple and internal person's wants; it emphasises on self-expression in order to satisfy the aesthetic want. Furthermore, it has become an art genre in fashion with complexity and diversity. It is necessary to combine the clothes and painting for the the promotion of the formative arts, through fashion designer's original ideas. This research was done by literature review. Designer's works was analysed using fashion magazine issued during 1985 to 1995. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship of color between in modem designer' works and in Kandinsky's paintings based on Kandinsky's color theory. Kandinsky's color theory helps to express the intuition and widen design range. But he developed the world of his arts with not application but intuition. In fact, his forms and colors were made up by his intuition and moved by his inner sound. It was found that Kandinsky's color theory influenced modem fashion; the effects of color and color, color and forms, and color and space on modern fashion. The results of this study imply that the expression method of Kandinsky could make an emotional abstract fashion with only color.
