Analysis of Fabric Trend obn Spring/Summer of 2001~2003 : Focused on Paris Pret-a-Porter Collection Book

Fabric in fashion as well as design and color affects consumer's a purchase decision making. Especially, nowadays as it is called an age of fashion fabrics, fashion themes are moving toward fabric through style and color. Since fabric is an important element in making fashion item's performance and marketability in fashion items including the clothing, fabric became the main identity of apparel industry. Therefore, in order to make increase the value of the identity and additive quality in fashion items, it is necessary to analyze fabric trend of world-famous fashion collection. Thus, this study investigated and analyzed fabric trend presented on Paris Pret-a-Porter Collection from 2001 to 2003. The kind of main fabric were chiffon, jersey, leather, satin, and in pattern, stripe and plan Hike of oriental style were mostly used. Especially, in 2003 fashion collection the neo-romantic trend was expressed using satin, chiffon, tweed, metallic fabrics, the oriental trend was expressed by means of knit, linen, jacquard fabrics. and sporty chic trend was expressed with cotton, denim, jersey.
