Two kinds bridged porphyrins are designed as a enzyme model system for the catalase and cytochrome P-450. These model system is carrying sterically fixed hydroxy ligand in one of the axial positions. The syntheses of the model systems are accomplished by using Baldwin's porphyrin synthesis and coupling of phenolic hydroxy and alkylhalide. The systems in which one of the face is hindered by alkyl group to prevent interacting with solvent and the other face is also protected by alkyl group to prevent the formation of ??-oxo dimer.
