대인관계적 심리치료 이론에서 본 내담자 문제와 상담자 전략 : 개관

The Interpersonal Perspective on the Client's Problems and the Counselor's Strategy

이 글은 대인관계적 심리치료 이론의 핵심적인 모델들, 즉 대인관계 원형 모델, 대인관계 순환 모델, 그리고 상담의 단계 모델에 관한 이론적 논의와 경험적 연구들을 개관하였다. 내담자의 문제가 왜 지속되는지, 그리고 내담자의 변화를 촉진하기 위해서 상담자가 어떻게 하여야 하는 지에 대한 대인관계적 심리치료 이론의 핵심적 주장을 정리하였다. 또한 이러한 주장과 관련된 경험적 연구들의 성과와 문제점들을 살펴보았다. 마지막으로 앞으로의 연구 방향과 관련하여 몇 가지 유의하여야 할 점들을 제안하였다.

The present article reviews the theoretical considerations and related empirical research into the essential models of the contemporary interpersonal theory. The interpersonal circle and the interpersonal transaction cycle describes why and how the clients' interpersonal problems persist. The stage model of interpersonal psychotherapy provides therapists with very useful principles of effective intervention. The implications and limitations of the recent research are also reviewed. Finally some suggestions for the future research are presented.
