A Framework for Evaluating Strategic Information Systems Planning

SISP (Strategic Information Systems Planning) has become one of the major concern for the effective implementation of Information System among researchers and practitioners. Because SISP requires significant amount of human and financial resources, effectiveness in developing and implementing the SISP has been required. This paper identifies the critical factors for SISP and develops a new methodology, so called SISPM (Strategic Information Systems Planning Methodology). Based on SISPM, a framework for evaluating SISP is proposed. The framework is composed of two domains, evaluation of procedure and evaluation of supporting systems. The evaluation system is applied to seventeen major Korean public corporations.
