There are growing numbers of people that recognize knowledge as future technology to attain the superior strategic position. The reason that corporations are interested in knowledge management is that they have intention to encompass knowledge in the structural capital of the organization, by making them systematical. The key of successful operation of knowledge management lies in the fact that knowledge is made by human. Companies are implementing various types of knowledge management project and learning program to transfer the knowledge formed by individual of the organization to the knowledge of the organization itself. It is purposed to acquire and create knowledge and to procure differentiated and competitive intellectual capital through the process of transfer and sharing. Early efforts related to knowledge management were focused on the adoption of new information technology that enables capture, storage, retrieval and distribution of explicit knowledge of the organization. However, adoption of information technology that enables capture, storage, retrieval and distribution of knowledge is surely a necessary but not sufficient condition. Moreover, it is required to deep develop the process of transferring individuals knowledge to core capability of the organization. In other words, effective basis to support knowledge management is attainable through controlling and integrating various systematical methods to develop human resource. From the viewpoint as above, in this thesis, method of human resource development that supports knowledge management has been discussed from the resource-based view and the view of organizational learning and knowledge creation theory. And as the practical methodology, Action Leaning has been investigated through the case study of Dupont, Motorola, Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics. Conclusively, Action Leaning has sufficient practical value as a method of human resource development that supports knowledge management and further discussion and approach to this matter is required.
