Since the end of 1997, the way of the reduction of working time has been discussed under the Committee which consisted of the representatives of labor, management and government. However, it has not been reached an agreement yet due to the differences of viewpoints such as payable holiday, over-time allowance, and so on. Through the questionary survey, workers who work in head office do work 484 hour per week and workers who work on site do work 54.3 hour per week. Another results shows that almost of Korean constructors seem to be have not prepared their strategies how to keep up with the impacts of the reduction of working time. Construction Industry has some peculiar characteristics which are quiet different from other Industry such as continuous work, weather-influenced work, outdoor work and so on. Therefore, the reduction of working time would not be enforcement like other Industry without the reflection of abovementioned characteristics. If the reduction of working time will be enforced, total price of project could be increased due to the increase of material and labor cost. Considering the extension of time, productability and finance charges, total price might be increased round 2.6 per cent approximately. Therefore, the constructors should prepare their strategies in order to minimize the loss incurred. Major things should be considered which are the preparation of careful programme, the execution of cautious contract administration, the use of simple and plain documentation, and the increase of productability. Most important things, in order to be applied the reduction of working time in Construction Industry, should be the attitude of the owner in public sector. Without the application of the reduction of working time into estimated price and duration, the contractor could suffer from financial burden. In short-term, the Committee should reach an agreement that the period of flexible time should be extended from 1 month to 1 year Governor should also revise the rate of major items which consist of estimated price. In addition, the definition of working time and holiday should be expressed in the general conditions. Furthermore, the compensation events caused by the extension of time should be extended including the head office overheads. In long-term, the current bid system should be revised in order to motivate the constructor's estimate capability and reflect reasonable market price. In conclusion, the application of reduction of working time into Construction Industry should be considered carefully due to its peculiar characteristics. Therefore, there need to be some exceptions such as the suspension of execution, non premium pay for work on Saturday in Construction Industry.
