The Review and Perspective of the Korean Labor Market Related Reform

This report examines the labor market flexibility and social safety-net policy, as well as issues of industrial relations and labor law reform since the economic crisis in Korea. Especially, this report focus on the current issue such as the reduction of the statutory working hours, employment protection for non-regular workers, payment of union officials and the multiple union representation, even though the last two issues are agreed to discuss after 5 years. This report also deals with the problems about the social safety-net policies, such as national pension system, employment insurance system, health insurance system and livelihood protection programme.
