An Analysis of Job Seeking Behavior and Employment Policy

The purpose of this study is to estimate effects of the employment insurance system on the job-seeking behavior by using the survival analysis. The employment insurance system has three functions ; the unemployment benefit, job-matching program and job-training program. Unfortunately, the effects of the employment insurance system cannot be fully estimated in the study because the Job-training program is omitted In the using data. However, the effects of the other programs are very well estimated. The unemployment benefit has the negative effect on the job-seeking behavior and the job-matching program - employment offices - has the positive effect, which are fitted the hypothesIs of the Job search theory. Finally, government employment policy has the weight on the Job-matching program more then the unemployment benefit.
