교양영어에 대한 학생들의 만족도와 영어학업 성취도의 상관관계에 대한 종단 연구

This study attempts to assess the quality of general English course perceived by students and examines the relationship between perceived quality of English education and the performance of students over time. Factor analysis was run for the difference between perceived and expected quality. The result shows six dimensions that determine the quality of general English education. Multiple regression analyses were employed to test the degree to which each of the six dimensions affects overall quality and students' satisfaction. Four out of six dimensions have statistically significant effect on the overall quality and five out of six were considered to have an important effect on the students' satisfaction. The study also examines the relationship between the overall quality and students' satisfaction and the result shows that there is a significant relationship. Finally, the study investigates whether the students' English proficiency in the beginning of the semester and their satisfaction with the course affects their achievement level. The results show that it was student's proficiency at the start of the semester that had a significant effect on the achievement level, not the students' satisfaction.
