Aesthetic Problem of Literary Ecology -'Essay on the Village of Kwan-chon' and Speed of Change­

In studying contemporary literature, the theories of 'Literary Ecology' can work as the key factor among the pending questions. The writer contemplated to talk in detail about the novel named 'Essay on the Village of Kwan-chon' and the subject of 'Speed of Change', so that he can eventually show the answer for the question of how to access the aesthetics in literary ecological way and observe the current status of Korean Literary Ecology from an acute standpoint as well. In the novel called 'Essay on the Village of Kwan-chon', dialect of Choong-chung province located in the west coast of Korea has been used in a very disordered way and this must be the striking feature of this novel. The dialect makes the readers so tardy that they spend more time in reading, and shows how biologically diverse a language can be. From here, we find the true beauty of 'Literary Ecology.' The modem language is dying. It is the language of ideology and of fascist as well. It spoils and destroys the diversity of language. It is now time to point out the problem lying in Korean language, which has almost become an artificial language and also think about the aesthetic problem that 'Essay on the Village of Kwan-chon' casts a strong question.
