Time Charter Party under the Chinese Maritime Code

This article focuses on the study of Time Charter Party Under the Chinese Maritime Code. Firstly it introduces the status of Time Charter Party under the Chinese Maritime Code. Secondly it gives the definition of Time Charter Party and makes some comments on its characteristics. Thirdly, as the main part of this article, it introduces and makes some comments on the responsibilities and obligations of both the shipowner and the charterer. Additionally, it also deals with some other matters under Time Charter Party. Finally, it makes some conclusions and suggestions. The main method of study used in this article is that of comparative law and, whenever appropriate, comparisons are made among/between Chinese law and laws of USA or UK or the Republic of Korea and rules of standard time charter forms.
