구매자-공급자 관계에서의 협력과 연계 IT 활용이 공급자 성과에 미치는 영향

Effects of Collaboration and Interorganizational IT Usage on the Performance of Suppliers

구매자와 공급자 간 관계에서 ‘협력’은 각자의 성과에 매우 중요한 요소이다. 본 연구에서는 구매자와 공급자 간 협력, 그리고 구매자와 공급자를 연결하는 연계 IT의 활용 수준이 공급자 성과에 미치는 영향을 규명하였다. 66개의 공급자를 대상으로 분석한 결과 협력 활동 중에서도 협력에 대한 최고경영자의 지원이 공급자 성과 중 제조기술력, 비용과 납기, 협력관계 만족도에 기여하는 것으로 나타났다. 공급자 협력 노력은 협력관계 만족도에 기여하며, 공동의 협력 노력은 비용과 납기, 그리고 협력관계 만족도에 기여하는 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 구매자-공급자 연계 IT 중에서는 Web-EDI가 공급자 성과 중 제조기술력, 비용과 납기, 협력관계 만족도에 기여하는 것으로 나타나 이의 중요성을 깨닫게 해 준다. VAN-EDI는 오히려 공급자의 제조 기술력을 저해하는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 협력 활동과 연계 IT 활용 수준은 재무성과에는 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다.

Collaboration is a critical factor which contribute to the performance of buyers and suppliers in the buyer-supplier relationship. In this study, we investigated the effects of collaboration in the buyer-supplier relationship and the degree of interorganizational IT utilization to supplier performance. Using data from 66 suppliers, we could find that both collaboration and Web-EDI contributed to supplier's performance. First, top management support and Web-EDI showed positive relationship with manufacturing technology capability, cost & delivery, and satisfaction on the buyer-supplier relationship. Second, supplier's collaboration effort contributed to the satisfaction on the buyer-supplier relationship. Third, joint collaboration effort was positively related to cost & delivery and satisfaction on the buyer-supplier relationship. However, we could not find any significant relationship between collaboration/collaborative IT usage and financial performance.
