ERP 도입시 기업의 생산전략 설정을 위한 의사결정 템플릿: 사례 적용·분석을 통한 탐색적 연구

A Decision Making Template for Planning Strategy Configuration in ERP: Case-based Exploratory Analysis

90년대 중반을 기점으로 기업의 경쟁력을 향상시키고, 증가하는 고객의 요구사항을 충족시키기 위한 수단의 일환으로 국내 기업의 ERP도입 사례가 증가하고 있다. 그러나 ERP 도입에 소요된 투자대비 이에 상응하는 경쟁력의 제고 또는 가시적인 재무성과를 달성한 사례는 상대적으로 드물게 발표되고 있는 실정이다. 이에 관해서 여러 가지 논의가 이루어질 수 있겠지만, ERP패키지의 도입을 단순히 시스템적으로 접근함이 그 중의 한 원인이라고 할 수 있을 것이다. ERP시스템은 기업 전체 프로세스를 통합적으로 지원한다. 따라서 ERP도입 프로젝트는 상위 전략적 레벨에서 하위의 운영적 레벨에 이르는 광범위하고 동시적인 의사결정을 동반하게 되며, 이러한 과정을 통하여 기업의 체질 및 전략을 재조명함으로써 이에 따르는 경영효과를 기대할 수 있는 것이다. ERP관련 연구가 꾸준히 이루어지고 있지만, 대부분의 연구가 ERP도입의 방법론 및 핵심성공요인 분석 등에 치중되어 있다고 여겨진다. 이에 본 연구는 ERP도입에 따르는 전략적 또는 상위 수준의 구조적인 사항들에 대한 의사결정을 지원하는 프로세스에 대하여 그 초점을 두고 있다. 특히 제조업체에서 ERP를 도입할 경우에 가장 중요한 의사결정 사항인 생산전략을 연구의 대상으로 삼고 있다. ERP시스템에서 설정되는 생산전략은 고객주문처리부터 생산 및 구매에 이르는 기업의 로지스틱스 관련 전체 프로세스의 형태를 결정하기 때문이다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 연구 및 사례를 기반으로 ERP도입과 관련된 생산전략 설정을 위한 의사결정 템플릿을 제시하고 있다.

Since the mid 90's, many medium and large-sized companies have been implementing the ERP system in order to enhance their competitive advantages as well as to increase internal efficiency. While the number of companies announcing ERP implementation increases and invest their resources for the implementation, a few success case has been reported. The most common explanation can be the lack of strategy-enforcement during the ERP implementation processes. In order to realize business benefits through the implementation, a firm should use the ERP tools in strategic ways. That is, the ERP implementation requires a series of strategic and managerial decisions throughout the whole processes. Many studies have been done in the ERP context such as performance measurements, implementation methodology. However, a few or none of the studies mentioned how to optimize the decision making process during the system implementation. In this article, we identified and summarized the key decisions during the implementation into three echelons and focused on one of the strategic and structural decisions, namely the planning strategy. In order to support the effective decision making, we revised previous works and proposed a decision making template for the planning strategy.
