Map Production of Geographic Data Base

Map is a tool for representing the information on the earth surface. Geo-database and GIS technology made revolutionary changes for map-producing methods. Main function of the map has been considered to be the tool for visual display or visual thinking. Digitally stored geo-database has added another function to the map as a tool for visual communication, which means users can select or delete any spatial object layers if it is needed. Therefore, map production authorities are working for reestablishing their institutional role of providing updated spatial database and of producing good quality paper map. They try to meet the expectations of both spatial database and the paper map users. This paper is to review the necessary steps for map production and how to solve the conflicts involved to print the maps from spatial database.
