The purpose of this study is to investigate the relations of the Drama in education and the Epic theater. The Drama in Education has been used as the prominent teaching method in the education fields. It sublated the intended and well-formed learning sternness. It is rather the play, so it makes the participants feel the catharsis and leads the natural and active learning participation. As well, many participants know that the drama in education is the cooperative process and understand the society and human relations through it. Expressing something is the act of showing himself. It naturally recognizes that himself is the subject of the sense. Each subject expresses himself, exchanges the ideas and reaches the end point. In the process, he develops the mediation, sociality, and cooperation. He is playing that himself thinks 'something different. However, he is not entirely immersed as the professional actor, so he compares his expression from others and has the critical recognition. And the purpose of the drama in education is active change from the critical recognition in his real life. Non-Aristotle's theater, the epic theater is saying that the theater makes the audiences not be immersed in the character and events. It rather has the distance and does not assimilate with the theater and the audiences. The audiences do not assimilate the event and character on the stage. They have to have objective and critical pose. And they have the judgement to cope with somethings in the future. Brecht said that the event on the stage is only dramatic event, not real. The audiences does not see the reality itself, but see some authentic 'examples'. If it happens, they have judgement to cope with it. That is the theory of the epic theater. The relations of the drama in education and the epic theater are as follow: 1. They have the identity with the dismantling of the traditional theater organization 2. They are the same the actor and the audience in the epic theater and the participant and the observer in the drama in education. 3. The characters are alienated. 4. The drama in education and the epic theater are dialectic. 5. They intend to the education. 6. They have dramatic elements to enjoy. 7. They have mimic elements. This study showed the epic elements in the drama in education to have this result. And the purpose of this study is to widen the drama in education field as the teaching method rather than the adoption and new-making of the method.
