A study of specific property on Lee Young-do's sijo

Jung-Un, Lee Young Do was a representative woman sijo poet for about 30 year's until she took the rostrum in publishing sijo <the new year's Eve> in a literary magazine, 『Bamboo sprout』 which first published in 1945. Also she was estimated only woman sijo poet her piece's arrangement and her achievement in literary was insufficient until she has been dead fur 10 years. Even though she was a modern sijo poet who represented Korean woman's meditation, activated finding new Sijo literary world and devoted moderning, sijo. In the admiration of nature, lyric beauty by naturalistic image on which she looked at nature, a sentiment of local patriotism, and unified world of nature and human including the efforts to get the meaning of life out of nature was considered. Lee Young-Do's life through collection of poem in three volumes was keeping her life in literature even though the real life in present was sorrow but she sublimated love and yearning in her poem clean and nobler fragrance. And, In her sijo, most of pieces treat the feeling which is experience in season, nature, impression which visiting places of natural beauty and historic interest, in middle works, she wrote the theme of love and affection over whelmed every her poems, in the last collection, in most of poems, the theme was buddhistic and christian life, religious eternity ceremony. She expressed care, pity and love about her contemporary country real life. Lee Young-Do, through this report, as modern sijo that present the authority which can break the cognition that sijo has difficulties to accept the modern sensitivity because of it's limited form, had played a role of locomotive. Lee Young-Do's emotional internal space is not simple yearning human being love and she was pursuit of blood, fatherland, principle of haven identity.
