현장 교사들이 제안하는 초등 과학교육 내실화 방안

In-service teachers' suggestions for how to improve elementary science education

본 연구에서는 초등 과학교육 내실화 방안을 (1)제7차 과학과 교육과정 일반, (2)과학수업 지원 체제(시설, 도구, 지원인력 등), (3)과학과 교수학습 자료(교과서, 평가자료 등), (4)초등 교원양성 및 교사연수 측면 등으로 나누어 살펴보았다. 협동 연구 기관인 3개 시도 교육청에 소속된 초등학교 7개교를 방문하여 종 18시간의 과학 수업을 관찰하고, 수업 후에는 교사들과 심층 면담을 실시하였다 현장 교사들의 제안을 기초로 초등 과학교육 내실화를 위해 각 교육 주체별(교사, 단위학교, 교육청 및 국가 차원)로 요구되는 역할을 논의하였다.

This research investigated how to improve elementary science education through classroom observation and in-depth interviews with 18 teachers in Seoul, Kangwon, and gyeongnam. Elementary school teachers suggested ways to improve elementary science education in light of (l)the 7th elementary school science curriculum, (2)educational environment(e.g., facilities, scientific instruments, human resources), (3)science teaching and learning materials(e.g., textbooks, evaluation tools), and (4)elementary teacher (re)education. In the conclusion, the expected roles of each stakeholder such as elementary school teachers, elementary schools, district offices of education, and the ministry of education are also examined
