An Empirical Study of the Reliability and Validity on the Certification of Software Product Quality

Computer technology has been progressing rapidly ever than before and software plays more significant role in building of good information system. In this situation, the quality of software has become one of the key issues for successful certification program. Thus, a proper software quality model is required to measure component quality and establishing the reliability and validation of the certification program is required. This paper describes an empirical evaluation of the reliability and validity of the product quality certification about a ERP and DB related application package in Korea. Our findings are encouraging for evaluator in that they indicate that current certification model can be used successfully in assessment. However they also point out some certification criterions should be removed or revised according to the result of satisfaction of end user.
