미술과 과학의 연계를 통한 새로운 과목 개발에서 미술 교육의 역할

Visual Thinking and Self-expression of Art Education about Basic Subject Development that Integrate Art and Science

이 글은 미술과 과학을 접목한 대학 기초 교과목 개발에서 미술 교육의 역할을 시각적 사고와 자기표현에 두고 있다. 본론은 글의 제목에서 내포하고 있는 다양한 영역의 개념들을 정리하고, 미술과 과학이 협동해서 작업한 사례를 들었다. 그리고 본론에서 다루고 있는 다양한 영역은 다섯 가지로 나누었다. 그 중에서 첫째는 다양한 영역들의 종합을 위한 시각적인 사고체계이다. 둘째는 미술과 과학의 기초에 대한 개념으로 관찰, 즉 시각적 인식을 공통분모로 보고 있다. 셋째는 새로운 시각 문화 환경에서의 미술과 미술교육에서의 역할을 명확하게 분리한다. 네째는 미술 교육에서의 전문가 양성을 위한 특수 교육과 일반인을 위한 교양 교과로서의 기초 교육으로 구분하고, 기초 교육으로서 미술의 역할을 자기 표현에 두고 있다. 마지막으로 다섯번째는 학문들 간의 연계로 인한 학제적 성격에 대한 개념들을 정리하고 있다. 이러한 개념 정리를 통하여 미술 교육의 역할은 시각적 인식에 의한 시각적 사고의 훈련에 있다는 결론에 도달하였으며 이는 시각 훈련을 통하여 가장 효과적으로 실행할 수 있다. 시각 훈련은 개인의 창의성과 자기 표현력, 그리고 다원주의로 직결되며 이러한 관점을 기초 교양 교과로서 BBVE의 우뇌 개발에서 찾고 있다.

This paper, for the development of interdisciplinary subject, arranges various areas laying stress on visual thinking, self-expression, and the role of art education in the development of fundamental subjects graft together art and science. First, a general and visual thinking system for the integration of various areas is explored. Second, as a concept for foundation of art and science, it is assumed as a common denominator that anyone can display creativity of art and science through observation. Third, sight training, creativity, and self-expression in art and art education in a new visual culture environment, have different meanings, but are assumed to be in the same context because they are linked to one another. Fourth, art education is divided into education for the handicapped for expert training and cultural education as a primary subject for ordinary people, and it is assumed that the role of art as a primary subject is self-expression. Finally, the concepts of interdiscipinary studies and cooperation process are discussed. The goal of this writing is to search for a visual thinking system that can integrate multiple concepts that are intricately mixed together. So, the role of art, in general, is to train to ‘See’.
