중국 광동성 지역의 경제발전과 외자의 역할

The Role of Foreign Capital on the Economic Growth of Guangdongsheng

이 논문은 중국 개혁ㆍ개방의 선봉이었던 광동성 지역경제발전에 외국인 직접투자가 행한 역 할을 분석한 것이다. 개혁ㆍ개방 이래 외국인직접투자구조의 국별, 산업별, 투자형태별 변화와 외자계기업이 지역경제에서 점하는 비중과 역할 변화를 고찰함으로써 광동성 경제발전에 외자 가 수행한 역할을 전체적으로 조명해 본다. 개혁ㆍ개방 초기 이 지역은 중국의 외자도입창구로 서의 역할을 수행해 왔지만, 중국의 개방지역이 확대되고 광동성 지역에서의 생산비 상승요인 이 발생하면서, 띠 지역에 대한 외국인 직접투자의 비중이 감소해 왔다. 그러나 90년대 들어서 부터 홍콩, 마카오 위주의 외국인 투자에서 미국, 유럽, 일본으로 투자자유입국이 다각화되면서 광동성이 새로이 전자부품ㆍ조립집적지로 변화되어가고 있다. 홍콩과 마카오를 연계하는 대주 강삼각주 경제합작이나, 중국과 동남아시아 FTA의 형성과 같은 잠재적인 발전 가능성으로 볼 때, 이 지역은 세계가 주목하는 투자처로서 발돋움해 갈 것으로 예상된다. 이와 같은 구체적 지역에 대한 세분화된 분석은 한국기업의 대중국 투자 전략에 시사하는 바를 제공할 수 있을 것이다.

It is said that Guangdongsheng has played a critical role in economic development of China since its reform and openness policy in late 1970s. To begin with its reform and openness policy Chinese government assigned four local area of Guangdongsheng. Shenzhen. Zhuhai. Shantou. Amoy as special economic zone in 1980. Guangdongsheng owes its rapid economic growth much to foreign capital, foreign direct investment in specialty. This paper is to examine the importance and role of foreign capital in rapid economic development of Guangdongsheng. Even though its relative importance in drawing foreign capital is declining as chinese reform and openness policy spreads to other regions, Guangdonsheng remains one of the most attractive regions for foreign capital to invest. Now local government of Guangdongsheng is designing the Great Zhujiang Delta linking Hong Kong and Macao for the new economic leap of this region.
