미술교육에서 놀이의 가치와 유형

The Value and Types of Play in Art Education

본 연구는 놀이의 특징과 유형 그리고 미술에서 놀이적 특성을 고찰하고, 초등 미술 교육에서 놀이의 가치와 유형을 제시하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 본질적으로 자발성, 재미 등을 근간으로 한 놀이는 미술과 깊은 연관성을 갖고 있음에도 불구하고 초등미술교육에서 놀이에 대한 연구는 그다지 많지 않다. 본 연구에서는 놀이에 대한 제 이론을 통해 미술에서 놀이적 요소를 고찰함으로써, 미술과 놀이의 밀접한 연관성을 명확히 부각시켰다. 교육에서 놀이의 가치를 고찰하고 미술의 놀이적 요소를 고려하여 미술 교육에서 놀이가 갖는 인지적, 정서적, 사회적 가치 등을 도출하였다. 또한 교육 목적 및 미술의 놀이적 요소를 고려하여, 미술 교육에서 놀이의 네 가지 유형을 제안하였다. 이러한 놀이 유형은 미술 교육에서 놀이와 놀이 아닌 것을 구분할 수 있는 안목을 제공한다.

This study attempts to explore the characteristics and types of play and the playfulness in art, and illuminate the value and types of play in elementary art education. Although play which is based on self-activation, fun etc., basically has close relationship with art, the research of play in elementary art education is very little. In this study, I analyzed the play theory and presented the characteristics of play in art so that drew the close relationship between art and play. In this context, by investigating the value of play in education and concerning the characteristics of play in art, I suggested the cognitive, emotional and social value of play in art education. And considering the educational purposes and the characteristics of play in art, this study suggested four types of play for art education. The types of play provide us with an insight in which we could appreciate the characteristics of play in art. Finally, recognition of the value of play is important to connect the fun and spontaneity of play with learning. That is to say, play and learning can be coexisted.
