佛敎儀式에서 佛讚類 詩歌의 기능

Buddhist praise poems and songs of function

불교의례의 절차 하나하나는 執禮者에 의해 어떤 목적성을 가지고 배치되어 있다. 많은 莊嚴함의 요소들 중 의식에 사용되는 佛讚類詩歌는 다른 장치들과 달리 의식에 없어서는 안될 필수 불가결한 요소이다. 다시 말해서 佛讚類詩歌를 모르고서는 의식의 내용과 의미를 제대로 이해할 수가 없다는 말이다. 따라서 필자는 이 연구를 통해 두 가지 결론을 얻을 수 있었다. 첫째, 불찬류 시가는 의식에서 장식적 요소로 존재하는 것이 아니라, 교리와 이념을 明澄하게 제시함으로써 의식의 의미를 드러내는데 결정적 기여를 하고 있다. 둘째, 의식의 절차에서 詩歌는 頌讚機能·淨化機能·祈願機能·隨喜機能을 하고 있다. 물론 言語機能 면에 주목하여 설정한 이 분류는 세분화한 것이 아니기 때문에 齋儀式의 성격에 따라 또 다른 기능이 있을 가능성은 충분하다. 이 연구를 위하여 텍스트는『梵音刪補集』에 수록된《靈山齋》와《豫修齋》의 시가를 사용하였다.

All elements of buddhist rite process, is arranged under the aim of executor. Among the lots of grand elements, “buddhist praise poems and songs(佛讚類詩歌)" is an essential part. It means that without understanding for “buddhist praise poems and songs", it is impossible to catch the meaning for “ buddhist process". First, “ buddhist praise poems and songs" is not existed for only decoration but it has meaning in expression of buddhist doctrine and ideology. Second, “poems and songs" of process, it has ability of praise, purifiation, supplication and adoration. Surely, this branch method which is based on word’s meaning is not efficient to explain rite process. In this investigation, we adopted "Youngsanjai(靈山齋)" and “Yesujai(豫修齋)" which are recognized in “Bumumsanbojip(梵音刪補集)".
