Problems and Improvements in the Northeast Asia Logistics Hub Policy under Northeast Asia Economic Hub Strategy

Northeast Asian business hub strategy was established to create a national competitive advantage in Northeast Asia. But New government published Northeast Asian economic hub including construction of sac in Northeast Asia for promoting peace, promotion of formation of Northeast Asia community, logistics hub, financial hub and national innovation for R&D cluster. A key element of this economic hub strategy is one that Korea acts as centres in Northeast Asia. In order to solidify the basis of peace and prosperity, Korea Government builds a strategy to work on economic cooperation and political improvement, while maintaining openness and dynamics to attract the major corporations of the world to come to Northeast Asia. Cooperation fields are sac parts such as energy, transportation and others, and integration of the Northeast Asian market to form a mutually beneficial relationship for superpower countries. To realize Northeast Asia logistics hub, the Presidential Committee on Northeast Asian Economic Hub planed and accomplishes i) the Northeast Asia logistics hub road map such as expansion of logistics infra in Incheon Airport, Busan Port and Gwangyang Port, ii) systematic improvements such as adjustment of investment distribution, special logistics companies, transparent customs in logistics transactions, logistics manpower, improvement of system supporting global logistics and attraction of international logistics companies to the logistics center, construction of seamless and paperless logistics information network, iii) Northeast Asia railway infra. This study deals with problems and improvements in the Northeast Asian logistics hub to provide the guideline for the action plans for Northeast Asia economic hub strategy.
