A detailed procedure of the design, fabrication, and measurement of optical transceiver for both IMf-2000 frequency band and PCS band are considered. An optical transceiver performing electro-optic (E/O) conversion and optic-electro (O/E) conversion is one of the important module in a optical repeating system, which transfer a massive amount of information with high quality through fiber-optic link. A typical wavelength division multiplexing optical transceiver in recent mobile communication system uses both 1310 nm and 1550 nm for the LD module and for the PD module, respectively, with the SCM by using a WDM coupler to combine them into a single optical fiber. Characteristics of the designed matching circuit for the LD module using a commercial tool show good agreement with the measured characteristics. LD module of the fabricated optical transceiver shows the optical output power of about 1.5 dBm with the bias voltage of 12 V. The PD module with low-noise amplifier show the gain of about 14 dB which is a lower value than expected. Monitoring circuits are also considered and the evaluation results from the fabricated module is quite encouraging
