In this paper a 4-wavelength optical transceiver which is applicable for IMT-2000 mobile communication services is designed and implemented.. Wavelengths of 1510 nm and 1530 nm are added to a current optical repeater system by using OADMs which utilizes 1310 nm, 1550 nm wavelengths to reduce the cost regarding optical fiber rent. Design procedures, characteristics of RF amplifiers, and the system configurations are also analyzed.
