On the Choice of Boundary Conditions for Spline Surfaces to Compute Pit-excavation Volume

We consider the problem of the choice of boundary conditions when we find a spline surface interpolating the given points. We present some numerical results with different boundary conditions for spline surfaces and suggest an appropriate choice of boundary conditions.
