This paper aims to review the reading concepts in the viewpoint of modern reading theory, and then discuss characteristics of recent reading lessons, so propose various reading assessment categories according to reading lessons' purpose. Reading teachers should know about modern reading theories and understand the nature of reading instruction methods & modern reading concepts. By that, reading instruction could be run efficiently and reading tests could be executive properly. Therefore this study proposed various reading test items and examples.
