A Comparative Analysis of Acceptability of Radioactive Waste Repository Policies: Knowledge, Trust, Perception, Acceptability and Participation

Disputes and conflicts are severe in making decision and implementation of the radioactive waste repository policies. The social acceptability problem of the radioactive waste repository matters in Korea at present. [t is to analyze comparatively the acceptability, perception, knowledge and trust for each group(executors and acceptants). There are sharp comparison and contrasts between two groups. So far, it was widely recognized that the disputes have been caused by deficiency of understanding and NIMBY of acceptants. New approaches to the social acceptability are needed along with new directions. In order to secure social acceptability for radioactive waste repository policies, it is necessary to develop tailored participation models.
