This paper examines the Case licensing in possessor agreement constructions in Korean. We advance three claims about the Case licensing mechanism in these constructions: (i) Possessor agreement constructions are regarded as the nominal counterpart of the exceptional Case-marking constructions (d. Cho 1998, 2000, and Massam 1985) (ii) nominals are multiply Case-marked (or Case-stacked) throughout the derivation in both exceptional Case-marking constructions and possessor agreement constructions, (iii) In spite of Case-stacking, only one structural Case marker is phonetically realized because the structural Case-markers occupy the same morphological slot and the last assigned one is phonetically realized.
