The effects of plant hormones for exogenous application to the early growth and development on germlings of Myagropsis myagroides, and comparisons of the effect to plant among various concentrations were described from cluture. Embryo of eggs from mature receptacle formed meristem in the apical part and rhizoidal cells bulged out from distal part, and juvenile sporeling formed the primary leaf from apical growth region. At high concentrations of the hormones, in general, the growth in both the embryo and juvenile sporeling was inhibited in the ranges of lO-³M - lO-5M, while at lower concentrations the growth was promoted by elongation of the thallus in the ranges of 1O-6M - lO-9M, except for kinetin which promoted up to lO-5M. By an effective concentration of the hormones, the embryo and juvenile sporeling could be accelerated in growth at 5% level in the former and 1% level in the latter, respectively. The most effective concentration for the growth in embryo stage was 1O-7M in IAA, lO-7M in NAA, 1O-6M in kinetin, and 1O-6M, in 2,4-D, whereas in juvenile sporeling stage it was 1O-8M in NAA, lO-6M in IAA, 1O-7M in kinetin, and lO-7M in 2,4-D, respectively.
