A Study on Romantic Illumination in Recorded Folklore of Temple

This study aims to trace the romantic aspects of the recorded Folklore of Temple, specifically focused on romantic quality, which was considered romance literature in the medieval times. Koreans have recorded Buddhist folklores since Buddhism was introduced in Korea 1.600 years ago. Buddhist folklores have been said mystic about transcendental beings. In some records, have romantic characters who are. which is difficult to find the original story of earliest history of temple. Generally speaking. the recorded Folklore of Temple is s history of old Temple. The foundation Folklore of Temple, especially the part dealing with the history of Temple, seems to differ significantly from both history and records. Perhaps what distinguishes the Temple story in building from the general Folklore. making it so absorbing as history, is the Buddhistical human stories embedded in its Buddhist tales and legends. Some of Temple record present several kinds of legends and tales to illustrate Buddhist themes. which achieved the romantic discourse by focusing on the embodiment of the Buddha or a bodhisattva, and tells some of most suggestive stories through the life and teaching of Buddha. Its details are so vividly conceived and realized. so the story seems to convey to the reader an affirmation rather than a history of Temple.
