A Review of Female Writers' Poetry of the Kim Sung-Dal Family

In the late Joseon Dynasty, the Kim, Sung- Dal family missed themselves and expressed the affection for parents, brothers, sons and daughters as a poetry under the same topic of love. They maintained informal relationship with their step-mother through a poetry. They wrote so many poems, which were academic achievements not only in quantity but also in quality, that we couldn't find out such a much work in the history of poetry. If we suppose that many materials are unreported and lost, we believe that there must have been a lot of literary works written by females in Kim, Sung-Dal family. This paper is to survey the poetry written by Kim, Sung- Dal' s wife, his second wife, and his daughters and to enlarge their interesting field to a feminine education and literary education of the Kims including the females of the Kims in Ahndong area. I'll deal with an analysis of each poetry in the next paper. The poetry which we met is the deep result in the history of classIcal literature during 17th century and 18th century even though it IS restricted to the Kim, Sung- Dal family.
