Aspects and Meanings of the Ink Stone Reflected in Chinese poetry and Prose

In this research, I tried to think over aspects and meanings of the ink stone reflected in Chinese poetry and prose (Chinese poems, odes, epitaphs), 조ille we have confined our study to the personified works of "munbangsau" four things of stationery (papers, Chinese ink, pen, ink stone) so far. Through this, I put an emphasis on understanding of our ancestors' consciousness. First of all, I looked over aspects in Chinese poetry and prose comprehensively, and then r focused on studying aspects and meanings of each subject matter. I categorized main subject matters into grinding and practice, being unable to be sharpened and blackened, fidelity and chastity, appointment and retirement and participation and seclusion of men of good will, harmonization of natural disposition and training, virtue, etc. In conclusion, I could find out the lesson they sought after Confucian intellectuals' virtuous items: self-discipline, moral training, fidelity, etc. In the future, I am going to study each distinctiveness more deeply by looking through synthetically all the subject matters of four things of stationery.
