Legal treatment of inheritance between mainland China and Taiwan

The political opposition formed by the channel relationship between mainland China and Taiwan has led their people to have changes in the family relationship and the social position system. The changes, of course, have made the inheritance problem very complicated. Now we take it for granted that the inheritance problem must be considered not only from the law point but also from the political or policy point. To resolve the problem, both mainland China and Taiwan have agreed to a precondition that considers first above all an actual profit of the persons concerned under each own political background, and now they have built up a mechanism for resolving the issue and have jointly managed it well. Such effort by both mainland China and Taiwan can be a reference model for the Korean peninsular in which south Korea and north Korea have been being oppositional relationship for many years. It is also applicable to the inheritance problem that may arise between the south and the north people in the peninsular. Under such context, in this paper, we investigate a basic viewpoint to legally treat the related problem in both mainland China and Taiwan. We lay emphasis on studyng the overall flow of resolving the inheritance problem.
