This paper focuses on differences and similarities of metrical feature between the Korean poem SIJO and Japanese poem WAKA. First, we can say that the line of SIJO has diversity in the number of syllables, versus WAKA has fixation. Second, the line of SIJO is composed 4 segments (yulo), while WAKA has 2 segments (hakusetz). Third, SUO has very special line of one segment (lyulo), which cannot be shown in WAKA. In addition, in case of WAKA, couplet(2 line stanza) has special role in making up for format of poem. Thus, the rhythm of SIJO comes to climax in lyulo line and the one of WAKA is culminated in 7·5cho.
