한·미·일 초등 미술교과서의 디자인 표현 영역에 관한 연구

A study on design expression curriculum of art textbooks for elementary school, used in Korea, the U.S.A and Japan

현대 디자인은 기능을 결정하여 제품의 모양과 색채에 영향을 주고, 포장, 의상, 장신구 등의 형식으로 생활에 직접적인 영향을 끼치고 있다. 이렇듯 일상과 밀접한 디자인은 삶 속의 미술교육과 맥을 같이하고, 미술교육의 맥락적 정당성 측면에서 국가경쟁력을 높이는 수단이 될 수 있다. 이에 본고는 초등학교의 디자인 영역의 내용 체계와 지도방법에 대한 탐구의 필요성을 느끼고, 그 방향을 잡기 위하여 우선 한·미·일 초등교과서에 디자인 영역을 주제표현, 표현방법, 표현재료와 용구, 조형요소와 원리 면으로 분류하여 내용 비교연구를 하였다. 그 결과를 통하여 디자인 영역내 학년간 위계성과 바람직한 방향을 탐색함으로써 일본, 미국과 다른 문화적 배경을 가지고 있는 한국에서 디자인 교육의 방향을 모색해 보았다. 주요어 : 미술교과서, 디자인 표현 영역.

This study is an analysis of design curriculum in art textbooks used in the U.S.A. Japan and Korea. There are four criteria for analyzing, which are subject matters, methods of expression, materials & tools and elements & principles of design. For subject matters, Korea art textbooks should teach all themes of visual, industrial and environmental design as well as lettering, poster, book. illustration, photography, craft, architecture, landscape, playground and park design. For methods of expression, Korea art textbooks should teach both graphic and construction methods while teaching ideas and solving problems. For materials & tools, Korea art textbooks should deal with quality of paper, drawing materials, painting and variety of construction materials. For elements & principles of design, Korea art textbooks should teach the understanding and expression of line, shape, color, pattern, texture, space, proportion, balance, unity and variety. The Design area of Korea art textbooks should be updated to adapt the U.S.A and Japan's advantages, the advantages as hierarchy and sequential system.
