As a part of the biological primary investigation of the cultural laver farms at Okku coastal area In order to investigated the growth and production of cultural laver, at the Haje, Okson, Oshik-to and Piung-do a fraternity of fishing villages in Okku-gun of Chunbuk province were selected, and all the laver culturing grounds were investigated every month during the laver culturing period from November 1989 to March 1990. Samples were taken randomly at each laver ground stations, and the length, width, wet and dry weight of laver blades were checked about 30 individuals per 10cm laver net string. As quantitative analysis of culturing laver growth, length, width, blade area, wet and dry weight of laver were compared with by each culturing grounds, and qualitative analysis of culturing laver growth, on the length and width of laver, morphological variations were compared with the growing condition of each grounds by having allometric growth coefficient. On the analysis of covarience of allometric growth length and width in the laver culturing grounds a four fraternity of fishing village, the significant difference of b~test was admitted Haje between Okson(F¹68=5.31, P<0.05), and Oshik-to(F¹83=8.442, P<0.01) grounds, a-test was admitted only Haje between Okson ground(F¹89=11.47, P<0.01), but between the other laver culturing grounds were not admitted. The allometric growth rate of width between length in the culturing la-vers were represented Oshik-to 0.8826 mm/month, Okson 0.7210 mm/month, Piung-do 0.2287 mm/month and Haje 0.0409 mm/month in order, and Hest of allometric growth coefficient was not admitted(p<0.01) the significant difference among the all laver grounds of Haje(t=68.02), Okson (t = 27.90), Oshik-to( t = 11.74) and Piung-do (t = 44.58). So growth patterns of culturing laver were represented by inequalitic growth equation with the lapsed time. The mean blade areas on the net string a per unit (10cm) was Oshik-to 147.9cm² to 93.9~211.3cm², Piung-do 106.7arl to 94.5 ~ 127.0cm², Okson 99.2cm² to 59.5 ~24.8cm² and Haje 75.5cm² to 54.5 ~ 94. 7cm², wet weight was piung-do 5.30g to 2.22~9.73g, Oshik-to 5.08g to 3.85~6.13g, Okson 4.l5g to 2.35~6.66g and Haje 2.89g to 0.99~4.32g, dry weight was Oshik-to 0.82g to 0.51~1.l2g, Piung-do 0.73g to 0.34~1.18g, Okson 0.69g to 0.38~1.10g and Haje O.44g to 0.l6~0.70g, numbers of individual was Haje 1,233, Oks on 1,144, pjung-do 991 and Oshik-to 844 in respectiv!y. The gross production per chaek to blade area and individuals per unit a net string that were estimated by production of culturing laver was calculated by following formula, and the mean gross production per chaek was Okson 19.9 sok/chaek to 11.7~24.7 sok/chaek, Oshik-to 17.4 sok/chaek to 13.8~19.7 sok/chaek, Piung-do 18.2 sok/chaek to 16.6~20.1 sok/chaek and Haje 17.2 sok/chaek to 7.5~23.0 sok/chaek in respectively. On the whole, a mean production with the total grounds, months and cutting numbers in the laver culturing grounds of Okku coastal area were estimated 109.2sok/chaek by production of blade area, individual, net and gross.
