The Public Religion and Its Function expressed in Shimcheongjeon

Shimcheongjeon, well-matched for the literary value, has been studied in the various literary sites by many men of letters and made a great feat. Most of already-done studies on it is for the purpose of finding the root of legendary in connection with filial-piety notion in Shimcheongjeon. It is estimated that this notion is related with Confusion, Buddhism, and Taoism ideas. Accordingly to understand it as the religions site, much trial has been taken. But it is also true that they are inclined to think the ideal root of Shimcheongjeon in one side itself. By repeated studies, Shimcheongjeon is studied in the public religion as well as religion site. However, it is unfavorable that the public religion expressed in Shimcheongjeon and its function has not been referred etc. Here, I am going to examine not only reflected aspects in the public religion expressed in Shimcheongjeon, but certify also the ideal root of it. In addition, I am going to examine how the public religion is reflected in works and how its function is.
