The Hometown Consciousness in Sindongyob's Poems

Thesis focuses on the hometown consciousness in Sindongyob's poems. Up to now, there are many articles on the national poet or national poetry, while few articles on his hometown, Gumgang. Therefore, this study concentrates on the relationship of hometown nation consciousness, analyzing the poems on his hometown that is an archtype and a base of his poem spirit. As a result, this study confirms that his hometown consciousness contains the relationship of Gumgang, flowing around his hometown, and his native hometown, Chungnam Buyo closely. And his hometown consciousness makes us have the critical reflection on the destroyed hometown at that time and a momentum that can overcome and improve the poor reality of his hometown. In this viewpoint, it is revealed that he uses our native language and chungchong dialects. In short, his hometown consciousness characterizes the hometown images, based on the perception reality which is different from the native poets at that time, and the relationship of the community as a hometown and the nationality as a universal hometown.
