Uk Song has been considered a critical poet who favors sly satire, an organic natural poet and the best poet of an intense poetic spirit. Above all, his ballad Hayeojihyang(何如之鄕) possesses satire poems that use alliteration, inversion, daring opposition of image, and foreign words. To estimate Song's poems newly known as satire poems generally I study the symbolic language in his poems, and interpret them by dialogism and grotesque aesthetics that Mikhail Bakhtin advocates. Song accomplished the new potentiality of Korean poetry after the Korean war and the poetics. He led the poetic substance and formality to the aesthetical dimension and made a contribution to ascending poetics to the academic dimension. I confirm that his poetic world was developed from tragic recognition about the realities and critical thought and he pursues the nature separated from life toward transcendence with oriental spirit.
