This study investigates Gugwanjo that searches for nature of abnormal character. Yunseok Heo wrote for the work which is an autobiographical novel of a formed dream. A Gugwanjo is a myna bird in Korean language and an incarnation of a writer. He has dissociation of personality that is professed by dreams. I note that Gugwanjo is apt to recognize customs that are carried onward an archetype of the sense of self. Kabsoo Han who is a protagonist of an autobiographical novel possesses mental trouble of a modern. This opposition represents the primary conflicts of the human existence. However, contemporary literary's interest in a myth indicates an emphasis upon contents in addition to literary forms. The narrative space of the work fills a strange of an unknown world. Characters and unusual forms of Han are never completely systematized by a social group. They reveal symbols and conquest that the human beings keep on living. Consequently, Gugwanjo is embodied particular meanings that archetypal approach may provide.
