Emergence of the Internet in the early 1990's, and subsequent development of tools such as the World Wide Web browsers, has given rise to a number of Internet users, creating a media tool on which companies focused their sales, marketing, finance, distribution and so on. The purpose of this study, therefore, is to propose and then empirically test a conceptual framework for the correlations of the usage level of e-trade affecting export performance in Korean export SMEs. The conceptual framework postulates that the usage level of e-trade is determinated by corporate internal characteristics, and 4 factors were selected for inclusion and the conceptual framework was operationalized into the testable model. Accordingly 10 hypotheses were tested, At the completion of data collection, information pertaining to 187 exporting firm cases(response ratio·11 7%) was obtained. Cronbach's Alpha (a), confirmatory factor analysis(CFA) and path analysis were performed to the operational model using SPSS 10.0 and AMOS 4.0. Overall, tins study has extended the literature on export marketing performance in e-trade. This study has contributed to a more comprehensive understanding of the success factors in export performance of e-trade use.
