노인학습자들의 교육 참여 실태조사 분석

An Analysis on the Actual State of Elderly's Educational Participation

노인들은 은퇴한 후에 이전까지 익숙해 있던 작업을 대신할 수 있는 적절한 활동을 찾아야 하고, 직장 및 업무와 관련되어 교류하였던 사람들과의 관계를 대체할 수 있는 방법을 찾아야 한다. 그러나 사회는 이러한 역할 전환을 쉽게 만들어 주지 않는다. 노년이 '역할 없는 역할'이라고 불리고 있는 이유도 이 때문이다. 그러나 최근 급속히 늘어나고 있는 노인인구는 수적인 증가만 이 아니라 질적인 변화도 수반하고 있어 노인들을 하나의 집단으로 분류하기가 어렵다. 현재의 노인들은 과거와 비교할 때 더 나은 사회 경체 문화적 조건을 구비하고 있을 뿐만 아니라 매우 다양한 개인적 특성과 사회정제적 배경을 가자고 있다. 개별 노인들의 욕구를 충족시킬 수 있는 다양하고 차별화된 교육프로그램을 개발하기 위해서 현재 프로그램에 참여하고 있는 노인들의 욕구를 조사 분석할 필요가 있다. 이 연구는 교육 프로그램에 참여하기 위혜 노인복지관을 이용하는 노인 7Z2 명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하여 이들의 교육만족도와 교육욕구를 조사하고 이 들 간의 상관관계를 분석하였다. 분석 결과 사회의 부정적인 고정관념과는 달리 대상 노인들은 비교적 높은 교육욕구를 까지고 있고 교육 참여에도 상당히 만족하고 있었다. 또한 자산을 비롯 한 노인의 학습능력에 대해서도 긍정적으로 인식하고 있었다. 노인들의 교육만족도와 교육욕구도 서로 상관아 있었다. 그러나 노인들이 참여하는 교육프로그램은 여전히 여가 부분에 편중되어 있다. 따라서 노년기 교육이 노인들에게는 배움 그 자체를 넘어서 또 다른 형태로 사회에 참여하는 방식이 되며 사회 전체로 볼 때는 사회구성원으로 노인들을 통합시키는 사회화과정이기 때문에, 노인들의 개별 욕구를 충족시킴 수 있는 다양한 교육 프로그램이 개발되어야 할 필요성을 시사 해준다.

The elderly have to look for some activities to take the place of their previous occupations and some ways to take the place of the relationships they had while they were working. However, the society doesn't help them doing these tasks for changing their roles. This is why living as the old is so called 'the role-less role.' Recently, rapidly increasing elderly population have not only changed in terms of quantity but also in terms of quality. The elderly have various personal characteristics and social-financial backgrounds, so it is not proper to regard them as one group. Also, they have better social, financial' cultural condition compared with those in the past. This study started with the hypothesis that through education, it is able to break the prejudice on the elderly, and the elderly would participate in society in new ways by the participation in education. To verify the subject of study positively, questionnaire has been collected from 722 elderly learners who are taking classes of life-long education program in the welfare facilities for the elderly in the whole country. And it is going to find the relationships between the level of satisfaction on education, the desire to learn, the standard of participation in society, and the desire to participate in society of the elderly students. The result of this research shows that the elderly students tend to have relatively high desire to learn and appreciate their abilities to learn Quite positively, which is not correspondent to the negative fixed idea in society. There are some differences between the level of satisfaction on education, the needs to education of the elderly learners according to their personal characteristics and their social and financial backgrounds. And differences between the level of satisfaction on education, the needs to education of the elderly learners turned out to be related. Therefore elderly education means another way of participating in society for the elderly rather than just learning itself. Also, considering the whole society, it is the process of the socialization that makes the nation absorb the elderly as members.
