An Exploratory Research on the Critical Success Factors in Implementation of Six Sigma

최근 들어 극심한 글로벌 경쟁에서 살아남기 위해서 국내의 많은 기업들도 경영 혁신운동의 일환으로 6시그마 도입이 크게 늘고 있으나, 실제로 많은 기업들이 적용에 상당한 어려움을 겪고 있다. 따라서, 본고에서는 6시그마 도입을 고려하고 있거나 적용을 추진중인 기업들에게 지침이 될 핵심요인을 찾는데 연구목적이 있다. 이를 우하여 국내 6시그마 실행기업들을 대상으로 한 설문조사를 통해 수집된 자료를 분석하여 결론을 도출하였다.

This paper reviews the CSF of Six Sigma implementation. We found that there are various organizational barriers in implementtion of Six Sigma in domestic firms. Thus, we tried to explain the relationships between implementation practices and outcomes applying Six Sigma. Some researchers have found that successful deployment of Six Sigma involves focusing on infrastructure such as leadership of top managers, intensive training, internal full time or part time pesonnel devoted to Six Sigma, customization, and reward system. This paper presents some successful factors of Six Sigma implementation through collecting and analyzing empirical data from companies deploying Six Sigma.
