To examine the historical development of resistance poetry against the historical events of the 20th century is to examine how literary people as Korean intellectuals coped with the actualities of life and the problem of the achievement of positive modernity. Also, when observing this, looking particularly at local literature, it is expected to make it possible to foresee how to confront the 21st century national actuality as well as to study historical upheavals. As a result of studying historical developments in Busan and Gyoungnam Area resistance poetry with awareness of the above, it was found that resistance poetry appears to show different traits over the course of time. First of all, during the Japanese colonial period, it was written with themes which would inspire national consciousness against Japanese Imperialism, aspiring to independence, demonstrating the impoverished reality of life, resistance consciousness and the class struggle. Authors include Yun-jae Lee, Won-su Lee, Byoung-ho Kim, Hwan Kwon, Pung-san Son, Woo-jung Yang, Yong-ho Kim and others. It can be observed that the changes over time in Busan and Gyoungnam resistance poetry, while highligting the different struggles of changing times, have given a voice to our common desire for liberty and equality and precious wish for democratization.
