Recent Economic Integration in North-East Asia: Changing Economic Structure and Employment Practice in Japan

최근의 동북아 경제통합에 의해서, 일본경제는 산업 공동화를 경험하기 시작했다. 본 연구의 동기는 일본의 경제구조와 고용관행이 어떻게 변화해왔는가를 이해할 수 있는 명확한 방법을 보여주는 데 있다. 본 논문은 두 부분으로 구성된다. 첫째 부분에서는, 일본경제를 개관하고 경제 공동화의 기본 개념과 공동화의 핵심적 지표를 보일 것이다. 둘째 부분에서는, 동북아시아 국가들의 경제성장의 성격을 이해하기는 데 있어서 기술 진보에 의한 생산함수의 이동이 핵심적 역할을 하기 때문에, 생산함수의 전통적 다이어그램을 정교히 하고, 이것을 최근의 경제통합의 움직임을 이해하는데 적용할 것 이다. Due to the recent economic integration in North-East Asia, Japanese economy has begun to experience hollowing of the industry. This research has been motivated to show clear way to see how economic structure and employment practice have changed in Japan. This paper consists of two parts: In the first part, we will overview Japanese economy and try to show basic concept for economic hollowing and key indicators as an evidence of economic hollowing. In the second part, we will try to elaborate traditional diagram of production function make it applicable for understanding recent movement of economic integration since a shift in production function due to technological progress must be playing a key role for understanding the nature of economic growth in North-East Asian countries.
