In order to analyze international trends and directions of current publishing research, this study attempts to delve into the results of as-published academic researches based on the International Forum on Publishing Studies(IFPS). As an international forum in academic publishing research, IFPS stands on the position of international conference which total 15 countries have participated in so far. IFPS is a publishing conference that publishing researchers in Asian countries have mainly attended. However, IFPS is significant in that it presents a basis to identify international trends of publishing research. The detailed objectives of this study can be outlined as follows: First, this study intended to make an aggregate investigation into treatises published from the 1st to the 10th conference and inventory a list of those treatises. Here, the focus was to outline both the results and overview of researches made up to the 10th conference and thereby analyze international trends in the meantime. Secondly, this study aimed to classify and analyze the research results in each academic field of publishing studies. Here, the focus was to draw nearer to actual research conditions by outlining the results of academic researches according to their topics and contents, rather than arranging them in series according to the yearly order of conference. Thirdly, this study also focused on looking into major concerns of participating countries. Fourthly, this study ultimately intended to contribute to the advancement of IFPS into global academic conference for the development of worldwide publishing studies by outlining the results of researches as reported for 20years up to now so as to help researchers set up possible topics and directions in future IFPS conferences, In this study, two major criteria of classification were suggested to analyze the academic results of IFPS, which were classified into upper and lower structure: Upper structure was set up in 10fields such as publishing theory, publishing education, publishing production, publishing distribution, publication capacity, publishing environment, publishing industry, electronic publication, publishing law and international publishing. The results of analysis can be summarized as follows: First, treatises published in IFPS amounted to total 150cases in the aspect of aggregate academic performance. Here, three Far Eastern countries-China, Japan and Korea - played a major role in conference out of total 15 participating countries (China, Japan. Korea, Philippines. Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, England, Scotland, Canada. USA. France and Brazil). Secondly, categorical research results were reported in the following ratios: Publishing theory(l4%), publishing education(4.7%), publishing production(8.0%), publishing distribution(l1.3%), publication capacity(2.7%), publishing environment (9.3%), publishing industry(26.7%), electronic publication(8.0%), publishing law(7.3%) and international publishing(8.0%). Thirdly, major publishing fields of concern were different among nations: Chinese publishing studies(46 cases) focused on publishing industry, publishing production and publishing theory respectively. Japanese publishing studies(38 cases) focused on publishing distribution, publishing industry, publishing theory and publishing environment respectively. Korean publishing studies(30 cases) focused on publishing law, publishing industry, publishing theory and electronic publication.
