The poet Park, Jae-sam has excelled at searching for the new poetic possibility of the traditional world in the 1970s. His poet portrays the image of sadness and pain, but still can be romantic. It comes from the flexibility of the basic world change. The romanticism over the tragic situations overcomes the tragedy. It’s the beauty of wisdom. This abstract has looked over the works of the poet Park, Jae-sam in these respects. Time in the poems of Park, Jae-sam is stopped. The present is dominated by the past. Consequently, it is masterminded by the past losing the independence of the present. It’s not open, but closed. The present is reinvented by the memories and traces of the past. The core beings in the closed time doesn’t show the aspects of the calm and quiet. It has the dynamics of merging into the present from the past. The closed time is dissolved by the very dynamic movement, and the dissolution itself shows the features of the circulation. The poem on the past dissolved by the circulation differs from the usual lyrical poem - the mere monologue on the past. In this regard, the unique lyricism of Park, Jae-sam is created. In his poem, the dead are brought back to life. The dead meet the living, and are speaking to them in a vivid voice. To him death does not mean the end of the world. It means the whole new beginning as well as the termination. The beings are not disappearing by death, but lasting through circulation. The images of liquidity in his poem are the mediation of the never-ending circulation. In his poem, there are a myriad of the poetic terms representing the liquidity such as ‘water, fog, tear, cloud, river, sea. etc.’ Along with the circulation of the water, the world of the liquidity is the world of the circulation. The philosophic speaker is created here. The speaker in his poem is not the one revealing or lamenting the grief with sinking in the tragedy. The speaker is in the culminating state of the tragedy, but shows the sadness to the extent of the sweetest romanticism. The speaker recognizes that it will return form the climax of the tragedy. This understanding forms the delicacy and depth of the lyricism. It expands the horizon of the new lyricism, opens the new possibility of the established poetry, and shows the direction down the road.
